Dentures are a simple and effective way to replace missing teeth. They come in a variety of materials and grades.
The simplest way to replace missing teeth is an acrylic denture, available on the NHS and privately. They have been in use for many. These can replace all missing teeth and smaller gaps. .
These dentures use acrylic teeth on a thinner metal framework using remaining teeth as anchors. The advantages of cobalt chrome frameworks are reduced bulk compared to acrylic and extra retention from clasps. The framework is completely concealed and clasps can be made out of aesthetic material
Implants can be placed in the mouth to help stabilise and retain full and partial dentures providing the wearer with much greater comfort and ability to eat They can can also eliminate the need for clasps on partial dentures
See your dentist to work out which type of denture will benefit you most. Dentures usually require four or five appointments a week or two apart to make.
If you have a denture break then you can contact the practice to arrange a repair. Bring the whole denture to the practice where one of our dentists will assess whether it is repairable. In most cases the denture will be sent off that same day to one of our trusted technicians and you will be contacted when it Is ready to be collected.
Here at Slipshoe Street we put prevention of disease and maintenance of oral/dental health above all else. This can help prevent the need for treatment.
